Ohio Wesleyan University honored its outstanding 2017-2018 student-athletes at the 14th annual Dale J. Bruce Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner. The Iowa State University chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) was recently named Outstanding Student Chapter of the Year by the national organization for its innovative efforts to support membership, member growth and for their contributions to the community through educational outreach, fundraising, and events for K-12 students. This is the fifth time they have received the award in the past 13 years. They were recognized at the 98th AMS Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas in January. The students earned additional honors securing first place for their local chapter poster. The poster showed the chapter's activities over the past year including photos from social events, outreach events, and fundraising initiatives.

Close to 300 University of Alabama students are receiving a hands-on educational experience at more than 60 companies and organizations through UA's Cooperative Education Program during summer 2017. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student. The experience enhances the students' employment prospects after graduation. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable on-the-job experience. Students maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

More than 385 named scholarships provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.
Walsh University is pleased to announce that 46 students were inducted into Beta Chi, the Walsh chapter of the Sigma Zeta National Science and Mathematics Honor Society on Thursday, Feb. 18. This national undergraduate honor society encourages and fosters the attainment of knowledge in the natural and computer sciences and mathematics fields. Induction into Beta Chi recognizes the attainment of high scholarship among its society members.
